Adult Faith
Minutes from October 8, 2007
David led us in prayer, and we discussed
the first two chapters of Dreams and Visions. We talked about the
need to "stir" the embers of enthusiasm and passion as they
relate to our work in adult formation, and the importance of recognizing
the Holy Spirit working through us. The reading affirmed our commitment
to helping others continue to grow in faith and experience a conversion
of heart.
Kathy has looked online for Advent skits
and will look at the arch for some possibilities. Marilyn will look through
her materials to see if there is anything that could be adapted.
We looked through a series of Pastoral Ministry
books from Loyola Press that could be used for ongoing adult formation.
Everyone agreed that they were thorough and yet readable. Next meeting
we will look ahead and set some dates to begin this process.
Dave passed out a proposal/draft for a Lenten
retreat day. We will discuss further at the next meeting.

participants. The starting date is Monday, September 17 from 6:30 - 8:30
pm. The program will be open to all parishioners in 2008.
4. Small faith sharing gathering - After some discussion is was decided
that we would encourage members of small faith sharing groups to attend
the pastoral planning sessions rather than gathering them this fall. We
did discuss sending a newsletter to these groups with some suggestions
about resources. . .
5. The parish life committee will discuss the possibility of having a
welcoming gathering for new parishioners.
6. Cindy presented the idea of checking out the materials from a program
called "Ten Great Dates". This program is for marriage enrichment.
Cindy will pursue this since we have had requests for education in this
area.
7. We talked about the Whole Community Faith Formation event which will
be held on November 14 & 18 entitled Advent - a different way. This
group will be responsible for the adult component of the program.
8. Cindy presented a request from Connie Hardie to lead a scripture study
which is 24 weeks long. Cindy and Connie will facilitate this program.
Dates will be decided by them.

Sr. Marilyn Breen
1. The committee
read the introduction to Here Comes Everybody and discussed this. Books
will be distributed when they arrive and the group will discuss the first
chapter next month.
2. New Parishioner gathering - October 22 after the 11:00 Mass. Donna
has sent postcards to the new parishioners inviting them to attend. We
will also be inviting those who are welcoming families for them, and the
rest of the parish. Food will be provided from Kalmes' and members will
bring desserts. Donna, Kathy, Dawn, Susan and David agreed to provide
bars/cookies. Kathy agreed to display the posters made for Octoberfest.
We also talked about answering questions and giving information about
upcoming events for new parishioners.
3. Kathy Keuter reported on Theology on Tap. There has been a good turnout
for each of the evenings and comments seem to be positive. Sarah Tschiggfrie
is writing a letter for October newsletter
4. David Tschiggfrie asked the committee to encourage committees and small

book.
5. Book reviews - We will ask Marilyn Olk if she will write a review of
a book which she recommended, The Five Languages of Love. Other committee
