Wednesday Evening Religious Education Grades 1 -10
The Religious Education program strives to provide experiences which help children and youth to grow in faith through classes which:

  • Engage in participative learning
  • Reflect on the connections between faith and life
  • Provide opportunities for prayer

To assist parents in their role as primary educators of children through:

  • Inviting parents to visit each child's classroom
  • Providing opportunities for parents to continue learning
  • Inviting participation at Masses and events
  • Informing parents of concerns
  • Communicating with parents through evaluations sent to parents in December and May
  • Sending a monthly newsletter to families.

Members of our community are called to minister as catechists for this program. Many adults and young people find this a meaningful way to serve the parish community. Each Wednesday we hold classes for children and
youth who are in grades 1 -10. These classes are held from 6:45 - 8:00PM. Youth in grades 9 and 10 do not meet every week.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist are integral to the second grade program in the Catholic school and the Wednesday Religious Education. Programs are planned through the year for parents and their children in these classes. The parish encourages family involvement through participation in a retreat, communal celebration of Reconciliation and service.

Youth preparing for the
Sacrament of Confirmation
are required to participate in a religious education program at St. Joseph the Worker or Wahlert High School.
